Foodpanda All Set To Acquire Tiny Owl



India has seen a lot of change in the way People order food. In last couple of years, the trend of online food ordering via app has risen phenomenally. Foodpanda, backed by Rocket Internet, is one of the early players in the market and started its venture of online food delivery from local restaurants. Since then the the competition in the online food delivery system is getting tougher day by day. To beat the competition, Foodpanda acquired its rivals JustEat and TastyKjana. Foodpanda is known for the coupons to order online food from local restaurants at discounted rates.

To further strengthen its position in the Indian market on food delivery, Foodpanda is all set to acquire the newly launched, TinyOwl, the Mumbai based  food ordering app.

News is there that FoodPanda is looking for making a strategic investment in another food-ordering app Swiggy that is based out of Bangalore. Foodpanda is facing tough competition with Zomato and to compete with it globally, it is taking all possible and necessary measures.

News is also there that Rohit Chadda, India Managing Director and Co-Founder of Foodpanda, is making way for a new CEO by stepping down from the position. Rohit Chadda has been felicitated with the 40 under 40 young achievers award by Fortune India for 2015. He has resigned from the position of MD on August 1st and is planning to start his own new mobile app venture. However, he will continue to be a shareholder in the company without taking part in the day to day operation.
